Read ISV USA Teacher Manual and raise any queries you may have with Teaching Manager
Attend the course induction and help set up the course center
Teaching and Administrative Duties
Ensure ISV USApolicies and procedures are followed at all times
Follow the ISV USA syllabus
Quickly respond to any feedback that arises as a result of a drop in/full length observatione
Prepare students for the end of week presentations, excursions and cultural visits
Help with placement and grouping of students
Keep accurate lesson plans andregisters
Make sure that students are receiving sufficient feedback on their work and that you complete a weekly academic report for each student
Show sensitivity to the group and individuals and create a positive learning environment
Attend staff meetings as and when required
Report student absences or sickness at the beginning of each lesson
Notify the Teaching Manager of any persistent misbehaviour
Prepare classrooms for use, taking care of school property and leave classrooms clean andtidy at the end of each lesson
Be proactive in safeguarding students and make sure they are not exposed to any risks
Implement on-line student questionnaires and post summer teacher feedback
Maintain confidentiality
Provide the best possible language learning, social and cultural experience for the students
Provide a high-level of customer care to students and all those associated with them
Present yourself well; being of smart appearance, appropriate to the role and using appropriate language
Person Specification
Education Level: Bachelor Degree (essential) / Teacher Preparation Program (desiderable)
Professional Qualifications: TEFL Certificate (essential) / State Teacher Licensure - State Teaching Certificate in ESOL (desiderable)
Experience: Previous teaching experience (essential) / Previous teaching experience in residential summer school - Teaching project-based courses and/or task-based learning - Working with single and mixed nationality groups (desiderable)
Skills/Qualities: Interpersonal skills - Commitment to delivering high quality lessons - A desire to continue to develop professionally - Enthusiasm and commitment to working as a team (essential)
Notice
No notice is required from the Employer where the period of employment is less than one month
1 week’s notice is required from the Employee where the period of employment is less than one month
Where employment has lasted for one month or more, not less than 1 week’s notice is required from either party

The Teaching Manager is responsible for supervising and supporting a team of EFL teachers, and ensuring that the academic program runs smoothly and that the highest possible academic standards are maintained.
